چکیده
Background: “Pilon” fractures of the distal tibia are a term used usually by orthopaedic surgeons. High-energy trauma and related soft tissue injuries main causes. It might be challenging to treat one-third tibial that affect articular process or not. The objective this work is analyze result Anterolateral Distal Tibia Plate in fracture treatment adults. Methods: After receiving permission from ethical committee, prospective interventional analysis was conducted among 25 patients who satisfied inclusion standards were given anterolateral plates. scoring system created “Ovadia Beals” evaluate at conclusion follow-up period. Results: participants research varied age 18 64, with mean 36. 13 had left 12 right end fracture. There 4 open GA-I 21 closed fractures. got as road traffic accidents (“high energy trauma”), 7 sustained due fall (low trauma). union occurred 24(96%) 1(4%) case showed delayed union. average period weeks radiological signs callus formation. 2 developed superficial 1 patient deep infection. Conclusions: especially intra-articular involvement may effectively treated plating within single stage, offers advantages such adequate exposure, preservation, reliable healing.

Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis (Mippo) in Distal Tibial Fractures – A Prospective Study from Developing Nation
Fractures of the distal tibial metaphysis with or without intraarticular extension can present a management challenge because of their inherent instability, scarcity of soft tissues, subcutaneous nature and poor vascularity of bone. Treatment modality is dictated by the fracture displacement, comminution, intra-articular extension and injury to the soft-tissue envelope [1]. The surgical treatme...

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) of the distal tibia offers several theoretical advantages compared to classic open reduction and internal fixation. A mechanically stable fracture-bridging osteosynthesis can be obtained without significant dissection and surgical trauma to the bone and surrounding soft tissues. In this retrospective study we looked at the results and complications...
متن کاملMinimally invasive osteosynthesis of distal tibial fractures using anterolateral locking plate: Evaluation of results and complications
PURPOSE Soft tissue healing is of paramount importance in distal tibial fractures for a successful outcome. There is an increasing trend of using anterolateral plate due to an adequate soft tissue cover on ante- rolateral distal tibia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results and complications of minimally invasive anterolateral locking plate in distal tibial fractures. METHODS This ...
متن کاملMinimal Invasive Percutaneous Plate Osteosynthesis for Distal Tibial Fractures: A Prospective Study
Background: Fractures of distal tibia and pilon fractures are one of the most common fractures and are difficult to treat on account of, absence of muscle tissue attachment on lower 1⁄4 tibia and metaphyseal cancellous comminution. Most of them are compound fractures and result in poor blood supply to the distal tibia. The conventional technique of Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) wi...
